After our initial run of printed scanner parts, Aaron had to make some adjustments to strengthen some of the pieces. Aaron and I printed parts for the scanner on Wednesday. The Makerbot printer kept missing steps in the y-axis so it held up progress that day. I finally got it sorted out on Thursday and was able to print all of the scanner parts. We loosely set the parts on a base board on Friday morning, and Aaron starting working on a laser cutter files that we can use to locate the components in proper proximity to each other so we can get a functional hacked scanner together to test switches, pi, power, etc. We had to leave early on Friday as we had to install a piece down at Milwaukee Makerspace and I had an exhibition to attend in IL. We'll finish the scanner mock up on Wednesday this week so we have a test unit for Friday. Once we hear back from Ilya on the thickness of materials we can start looking for a place to cut the aluminum surround that makes up the walls of the case and start specifying the lexan and gasket material.
