learning rhino, researching parts, mood board -mcgeen

I am very pleased with my progress with Rhino over the last few days. Here is an example of what I have learned through the course of 1 week!

And how about a back view...

Now I understand logistically this gear would be inefficient, but not bad with some boolean splits, unions, and arrays, huh?

Anyway, I would like to connect you to the parts list that will help us turn the digital into a tangible object. For a complete list of parts for the version 1 Fab@Home:

This might be beneficial to us in the future.

And finally, some brain food for the cnc mill team would be looking back in time to the design stylings of Brooks Stevens. Just as functionality is important to the design of this machine, look back in time to the design aesthetic of Stevens Toastalator! What if we build off this streamlined design, and maybe designed a....Fabalator? or a Millalator!

(Kidding aside)

I will say I like that Cursive text on the side of this machine as well as the streamlined/futuristic look!

Does form follow function, or function follow form?

Just a thought, but getting back to a point that Frankie hit on the first day, Brian Oltrogge's combination mill/printer/cutter/laser looks the way it does because of the functionality of it. It has that retro style!
